About Me:: I am a designer, artist, sometimes musician, vegetarian, dog mommy - I have three of them, bellydancer, wanna-be yoga/pilates instructor, handywoman, sex kitten, traveler, widow and dreamer.

In December '07, I had surgery to to remove a non-functioning neuroendocrine
tumor (islet cell) from the tail of my pancreas. While I don't have a clean bill of health, I am not on any further treatment, but we are watching potential mets to lymphs nodes. I have felt pretty isolated with this disease based on its rarity.

In spite of the crazy setbacks my life has handed me in the last few years, I live a beautiful life and don't have time for cancer to get in my way.

I love music. All kinds, It was one of the things that brought my husband and I together and one of the few things that keeps me sane. For years, he & I both collected various types of music and we wrote professionally for music web sites. Collectively, we have three online streaming radio stations. Drop by and visit them.

Uh oh. The Sh!t might be hitting the fan...

So today I went for my nine month followup post-surgery. My bloodwork is great...totally normal..no problems. But my CT came back with a spot on the right lobe of my liver. Recipe: Blueberry Coconut Smoothie

2/3 cup fresh blueberries 1/3 cup coconut water 2 cups ice Stevia to taste Put all ingrediants in blender and process until smooth. Add stevia to sweeten to taste. (I used 15 drops of NuNaturals liquid stevia.)

Recipe: Strawberry Rhubarb Smoothie

4 rhubarb stalks - leaves removed 8 medium sized hulled strawberries 1/2 cup of coconut milk stevia (I used one packet, you might want more or less depending on your sweet tooth!) 1 cup (or more!) of ice 1. Cut up rhubarb into small pieces. This makes that fibery veggie easier to juice. Juice away! 2. Pour rhubarb juice into blender with strawberries, coconut milk & stevia until smooth, then slowly add ice until finely crushed.

Guess our current situation is similar. Your gorilla is hanging outside the door - mine is sleeping or semi-comatose! I feel great! Life is good. When do you have your "big deal about nothing" scans? I am okay , I have a doctor's appointment with Dr. Pappas at Duke Medical Center Oct. 20. they will call me if they can make it sooner. I have been feeling sick on my stomach (nausea) every morning when i get up, I dont get sick but feel like it. I dont know if that is from this or the fact that i quit smoking...maybe it is withdrawl...i have no idea, it has been happening now for over a week.....i also realized that i had bought some nausea medicine a while back because of feeling this way...before i knew about this islet cell...its hard to say, i guess when you find out you have this ...you kind of look back and analize everything...i do anyway..not only do i have an islet cell but i am crazy as well LOL j/k i need to laugh everyone needs to do that and often :) I hope that you are okay.
