About Me:: I'm currently a Senior at Florida State University studying Psychology and Nursing. I'm interested in a career path integrating alternative medicine + holistic healing techniques for palliative care. I LOVE animals (esp. dogs and horses), being outdoors, reading, shopping (love that a little too much!), learning about health/nutrition, spending time with the people I love!

I'm a big believer in the law of attraction -- if you think positively about things, it will automatically attract positive things towards you. I look back on this year and see how we have been given an opportunity as a family to appreciate life in ways we never knew possible. I am proud to have such a healthy outlook and to have learned some of life's big lessons early on so that I can live every day to the fullest!! :o) I am thrilled to be a part of this growing community -- the love, good news, current information, health guru's, raw junkies, crazy sexy survivors and more found here makes this place the gem that it is!!

I am a part of this community because I have gone through quite a bit of adversity in the past year. On March 28, 2007, my 19 year old sister, and only sibling, suffered from a brain aneurysm while driving and had a head-on collision. She was in the hospital for 3 months, from there went to a Neurological Rehabilitation center for 3 months, and is now at home (best place she could possibly be!!) and is undergoing extensive neurological rehabilitation with speech, physical and occupational therapists with the help of my parents and myself to get her life back and have a *full recovery* -- and you better believe it!! It's been a difficult year but I have found that so many positive things have come out of tour unfortunate situation. She has come such a long way & is now laughing very appropriately -- and if she doesn't think you're funny she WON'T laugh...she can make ya feel pretty sorry for yourself ;)

<3 Kelzey, you are an inspiration to myself and everyone who meets you!! You have many guardian angels praying for you at all times as you continue on your journey toward recovery. You will live a long life filled with happiness, joy & vitality! I love you more than words can describe!

I BELIEVE THAT everyone should be able to laugh at themselves, the simple things in life are what matters the most, no one can survive without love, everything happens for a reason, giving back is important, the best things in life come in small packages, all people are beautiful in their own unique ways, there are more good people than bad in this world, anger is a waste of time, wealth is in no way connected to happiness, laughter is one of the best things EVER, trust has to be the foundation for a healthy relationship, Will Ferrel is the funniest man alive, what you fear will only hold you back in life, nothing is impossible, and the best way to live is to live like you were dying!!

Why am I here? Well, this is my story....

I finally hopped onto the Dry Brushing bandwagon! Yippee-ayo-kayay!!

After reading Kris' blog about dry brushing I stopped by the local organic produce store, The New Leaf Market (which is an amazing find!), and picked up a 25 oz. jar of Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil which has an infinite number of health benefits. It can definitely be ingested and used as a substitute for butter in cooking, however I thought it tasted rather off to be used for eating.
