About Me:: I am 58 years young, an artist and art educator, mother of three, MIL of two and grandmother of two. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on January 16, 2007 and told I had 3-4 months to live. My husband Grey was diagnosed with lung cancer/lesions in brain, liver and bones 2 months later...prognosis poor. I've spent the last year focused on healing for both of us. I'm doing amazingly well and Grey is holding steady. Healing is a full time job! And it does take a village. But what a wonderful village I live in! And like so many of you, we have shown the so-called experts that anything is possible with lots of TLC and smart choices and an open mind.

Favorite Book:: Kitchen Table Wisdom and My Grandfather's Blessing by Rachel Naomi Remen. Poetry by mary Oliver.

What's your personal mission statement?: Emily Dickinson said, "Truth is such a rare thing. It is delightful to tell it." I belive that, in order to heal, we must recognize that we have inner guidance (that small soft voice of God) and that we can trust it. It is then that we find our "truth". Personally, I belive that art (music, dance, drama, writing, poerty, etc.) is the best vehicle through which to find our truth. The purpose of art is to heal. I belive that every person is a special kind of artist, rather than the common belief that artists are special kinds of people.

We're coming for Memorial Day. Maybe I'll stay longer, like a week. I'm so excited about you getting back into your art. Would you like to make it a goal to get your studio cleaned out and rockin again when I come down there in May?!! I've also had the idea of getting a prefab type of house/shed so you can make a new studio...new beginnings. You have so much art inside of you just bursting to get out, I know it!!!!
