Glad to hear that your treatment went well. I went for a 3rd opinion today and he said the same thing as my 2nd no CHEMO but I will need to take Tamoxifen for 5 years. I did the oncotype DX test and that showed I had a very low chance of it going back. I had a pet scan and I had 2 hot spot show up so I am off for more test.
Please keep me posted on how you are feeling
I am so glad the info I have posted is helpful to you. I know how difficult it is making decisions on treatment when the doctors truly do not know anything about complementary or alternative care. I have been taking all my supplements for well over a year now and I know they have worked for me! If you want to connect outside of CSL, you can email me @ karen63@austin.rr.com
XOXO,
Karen
Thanks so much for your thoughts & prayers... I'm truly amazed and so grateful to have all of you guys praying for my hubby... I'll add you too to my prayer list so that your road to recovery is as smooth & speedy as possible!
Good night & bless you lots
Thanks for thinking of me today! All went well, just a long day. Met some more cancer survivors today at the center and other great people going through treatment. It's weird to say but it is uplifting to go there and to meet new people each time. It's great to see such positive upbeat people going through this. I will keep you posted for sure. I am planning on doing my blog in a little while, I am trying to blog at least on the big chemo days! I hope you are doing well. You are in my thoughts and prayers too. Do you have a definite treatment start date next month?
I hope all went well for you with your 2nd treatment 2 day , you have been in my thoughts all day . Keep me posted when you get time.
Thanks for the vitamin information. I am going to request his brochure and order the vitamins.
I had the heartburn, too. But if that's the worst of it, I can deal. How were your blood counts. I was only slightly neutropenic one week later. My hematocrit was high...thanks to iron tablets.
Like you, I look every morning on my pillow. Waiting for the hair loss. Today, my scalp is a little tingly. Hopefully, that's nothing : ) I don't care about the hair, really. It's just hair and will grow back.
My appetite has been pretty good. A few days it was not so good. And the thought of juice has been repulsive to me. Isn't that funny? I was so into it before chemo. Hopefully, I will be ready for some yummy carrot, apple, ginger juice soon.
I am doing Herceptin every three weeks. I will ask my oncologist what he thinks about the weekly schedule. I actually have not yet received herceptin. He didn't give it to me with the first cycle because he said that if I had a reaction he wouldn't know which med caused it. I will get it with my next cycle and then every 3 weeks for a year. Why did your onc change her mind?
We will stay on schedule and finish up the week before Thanksgiving. Perfect timing! We might need to put on a little weight after finishing our chemo.
I wish you weren't going through this, but I am glad we connected online and can share our experience. It's so helpful.
Have a great day,
Halla
I just spotted the blog above! I will go read.
Love ya - Jen
I hope you are feeling well. Today was my hardest day so far, but not too bad overall. I have been achy in my legs, think it is the neulasta. Sat in the hot tub which helped quite a bit. Can't wait to put this all behind! Hang in there and stay strong.
